Denise Denis and Philip Welch were surprised and delighted to receive a cheque of £200 from Mary Ellis, President of Wells Lions Club which was money raised from the Annual Moat Races.
Alan Trinder, long standing broadcaster of the Moat Boat Races, nominated WDAA to receive this donation of £200. The Annual Moat Races were held on August Bank Holiday and the cheque was presented at the Awards Event in the Bishop’s Palace Undercroft on Sunday 5 October.
